Green Guerrilla Sustainability loves giving group presentations that have a positive impact on our community, economy and environment.  Presentations are often provided for businesses, community groups, libraries, and classrooms.  Each presentation is approximately an hour in length and includes extra time for questions and a discussion.  Green Guerrilla can also provide custom presentations, so if you you need something a little different, please let us know.

Learn about the issue of increasing waste generation and how it impacts nature and society. We will discuss how to use the 5 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Renew, Rot and Recycle; the importance of returning organic waste to the soil and diverting it from the landfill; and how to start an indoor vermicompost worm bin (step-by-step) for the winter.

Learn about the secret life of soil and why a gardener should care. We will discuss the basics of plant nutrients; the importance of bacteria, fungi, earthworms and insects; how to use compost, compost tea, mulch and leaf mold; and how to apply soil food web science to your yard and garden.

Lasagna composting is a method of making compost and building soil by layering organic materials. It is often used for turning a grassy or weedy area into a nutrient rich garden space. The basic idea behind lasagna gardening is the layering of several types of organic materials such as food waste, manure, grass clippings, compost, dried leaves, mulch, etc., right where you plan to plant your garden.

Book a vermicomposting workshop to teach your classroom or community how to build an inexpensive worm composting bin for their home or office.  Participants will also be taught how to create additional tiers/layers for their worm for their bin for increased food waste capacity.  All supplies and composting worms are included in this workshop.
