Brienne Bennett — Founder
Brie dreams big… and green. Born and raised in Regina, Brie has dedicated her life and her career to reducing humanity’s footprint on the environment. She has a zest for life that is fueled by her passion for waste reduction, composting and environmental education. Brie loves to share her knowledge and experience by providing presentations and workshops to business, community groups and classrooms. Composting is one of her many passions and she is often fondly referred to as “the worm lady”.
Brie is also an experienced program manager and a graduate from the Sustainable Environmental Management Masters degree program at the University of Saskatchewan. Brie has also received her National Compost Facility Operator certification from the Compost Council of Canada, her Master Composter certification from the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council, and her Green Roof Professional certification from Green Roofs for Healthy Cities. In the past, she has managed the SaskPower Lighting Discount Program with the Summerhill Group; the Treecycle Program, Leaf & Yard Waste Program and Household Hazardous Waste Day with the City of Regina; and the Clean Earth Earth Warriors Program with PV Waste Solutions. She has also organized and provided numerous presentations to businesses, community groups and classrooms on the topics of environmental health, waste reduction and composting. Currently, she is a Senior Waste Management Analyst with Saskatchewan Environment.
In 2014, Brie created Green Guerrilla Sustainability as a way to share her passion for environmental sustainability. It started as a website and blog dedicated to finding everything green in Saskatchewan. Today she shares her passion for sustainability and environmental education through presentations and workshops at events, schools, businesses, and community centres.
